About the region

Central Region holds some of Ghana's most important history. Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, were centres of the transatlantic slave trade, and a visit is a moving experience. Inland, the canopy walkway in Kakum National Park crosses high above the rainforest, and the coast has long Atlantic beaches. It suits anyone interested in history, and families who want forest and beach too.
